AIMS Insights Launches MIMIR Across FIU Men’s and Women’s Soccer Programs

Miami, Florida. May 2026. AIMS Insights is proud to announce the launch of the MIMIR platform within both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Florida International University (FIU), further expanding MIMIR’s presence across elite collegiate and professional sporting environments.
FIU, an NCAA Division I programme, joins a growing family of organisations using MIMIR across high-performance sport, ranging from elite collegiate environments through to professional football settings within the English game.
The rollout will see both FIU programs integrate MIMIR into their athlete environments to better understand team dynamics, player wellbeing, communication patterns and the psychological climate influencing performance across the season.
Developed by AIMS Insights, MIMIR is designed to give coaches a deeper understanding of what is happening inside their teams through high-frequency, low-burden psychological data collection. The platform combines athlete check-ins, behavioural insight and AI-powered analysis to help coaches make more informed decisions around culture, communication, leadership and performance.
The implementation at FIU reflects a growing recognition across elite sport that understanding how athletes think, feel and experience their environment can provide a significant competitive advantage.
Matt Dunn, Head Coach of the FIU Women’s Soccer program, said:
“At the elite level, the difference between winning and losing is often found in the details other people cannot see. MIMIR gives us an opportunity to better understand our environment, our players and the dynamics driving performance every single day. We are always looking for ways to stay ahead — not just tactically, but culturally and psychologically as well.”
He added:
“What excites me most is the ability to understand what our athletes are thinking and experiencing before issues become visible on the surface. That kind of insight can have a huge impact on communication, trust and ultimately performance.”
He continued:
“What really blew me away was the ability to model potential recruits within the existing team dynamics and see how different personalities could influence not just the wider squad, but specific positional groups as well. That gives you a completely different level of understanding when building a high-performance environment.”
Kyle Russell, Head Coach of the FIU Men’s Soccer program, said:
“The modern athlete environment is incredibly complex, and the best programs are the ones that understand their people the best. MIMIR gives us a completely different layer of insight into our team that we simply have not had access to before.”
He continued:
“We are constantly trying to stay ahead of the competition in every area — recruitment, preparation, performance and culture. Understanding what our players are thinking, feeling and experiencing across the season gives us an opportunity to respond quicker, coach better and create a stronger environment.”
AIMS Insights believes the partnership reflects a broader shift within sport toward integrating psychological intelligence into everyday coaching practice. Rather than relying solely on periodic surveys or informal conversations, MIMIR enables continuous insight into the athlete experience while maintaining low burden and athlete engagement.
The launch also comes alongside the introduction of Every Voice, MIMIR’s newly announced AI-powered coaching insight tool, which transforms anonymous athlete feedback into actionable coaching intelligence using each athlete’s evolving digital psychological profile.
Dr Steve Smith said:
“FIU’s willingness to embrace innovation across both programs demonstrates a real commitment to understanding the full athlete experience. The future of high performance will belong to environments that can combine technical coaching with deeper human understanding, and that is exactly what MIMIR has been designed to support.”
The rollout across both programs is expected to support ongoing development in athlete wellbeing, communication, leadership, team culture and performance insight throughout the upcoming competitive cycle.
